Cheshire Cat shawl – machine knit version

EN | GE | NL

🇬🇧 Not quite a scarf, not quite a shawl, it is just a simple little knitting thing in-between the two that can be easily knitted from one to infinite skeins of yarn.
Let the yarn shine with simple stocking stitch and dare to show off the “wrong side” too!

Skills needed: Casting on; binding off; increasing, decreasing and reforming a stitch; using the hold function of the machine; and working stocking stitch.

Sample Sizes: 168 cm length, ~26 cm width; washed and dried flat.

Yarn weight:
4 ply, 100% Merino yarn with 400m/100g

Sample scarf usage:
GarnStories, hand-dyed 4ply merino yarn with 400 m / 100 g, usage 388 m (97 g)

Machine: Standard gauge machine (4.5 mm needle distance), no punch card slot, lace carriage, or second bed (ribber) needed. The sample was knitted on a Brother KH-881 with MT 10.

Gauge (10×10 cm): 30 stitches and 38 rows = 4” x 4” / 10 x 10 cm in stocking stitch; washed and dried flat. If you can accept small deviations in size the gauge is not crucial.

Accessories: Latch tool, claw weights, darning needle.

In the same time the patterns of…
