Fingering Yarn Cozy
🇬🇧 I had to do a quick and easy project for my yarn. Even if I use a project bag, all my caked yarn is flying around and unwinding every now and then. Therefore, a yarn cozy comes in handy.
The “Fingering Yarn Cozy” is a small knitted pouch that holds a caked skein of yarn of fingering / sock weight so that it cannot unwind by itself. If the caked yarn is used up from the middle, the Yarn Cozy holds the ball together until the end.
Because of the rib pattern the Yarn Cozy is flexible and can be stretched to pull it over the yarn and contracts easily around the yarn, afterwards. In my example the Yarn Cozy measures 10cm in diameter and is 9cm high when filled with yarn.

🇩🇪 Heute war mir nach einem schnellen und einfachen Projekt für mein Garn. Auch wenn ich eigentlich eine Projekttasche nutze, kann es vorkommen, dass meine gewickeltes Garn sich hin und wieder etwas abwickelt. Hier kommt ein kleiner, gestrickter Garnbeutel gerade richtig.
Der „Fingering Yarn Cozy“ ist ein kleiner, gestrickter Beutel, der einen gewickelten Strang Garn der Garnstärke ‚Fingering‘ (Sockengarn) fasst, so dass sich dieser nicht von allein abwickeln kann. Wird das Knäul von der Mitte aus verbraucht, hält der Yarn Cozy das Knäul bis zum Ende zusammen.
Durch das Rippenmuster ist der Yarn Cozy dehnbar und zieht sich um das Garn leicht zusammen bzw. lässt sich dehnen, um ihn über das Garn zu ziehen. In meinem Beispiel misst der Yarn Cozy befüllt 10cm im Durchmesser und ist 9cm hoch.
