5 days – 5 shawls 2022

🇬🇧 Since it wasn’t on Instagram this year, I missed the 5 shawls in 5 days challenge 2022. I wrote about that challenge last year already. You can find the details here.

The weather outside is still a bit moody. Therefore I decided that it’s not too late to still do my own 5 mini swatches in 5 days. After I knitted the Feste Cowl (Hanne Kær Pedersen) and The Shift (Andrea Mowry), I figured out for myself, that I actually like wearing small cowls in this in-between weather where it is . Therefore, I knitted five small cowl samples during this week instead of shawls. Four are knitted in the round, one is knitted flat and sewn. I used some contrast stripes to make the knitting direction more visible.

Top left: Poncho like cowl knitted in the round with three increase-tips, one at the front, one on each side, left and right in the back.

Top right: Knitted in the round cowl with one increase-tip at the front center.

Bottom left: Knitted in the round cowl with four invisible side increases and a front center tip.

Bottom middle: Knitted flat and sewn cowl with asymmetric stripes and center tip.

Bottom right: Knitted in the round cowl with symmetric in- and decreases to create a tube like cowl with center tip.

    Cheshire Cat Shawl

🇬🇧 Everyone knows it, everyone has it – this one beautiful, hand dyed skein of yarn. It varies in colors, it has speckles or both, it waits for that one, special project, which somehow doesn’t come. This yarn is just too special to fit into larger projects. It has too many variations in itself, so…
